Our tutors decide themselves what their hourly fee will be. Wiztut does not decide your charges and does not apply any limitations. We do not deduct any commission from your fees either. In fact your tutees will make their payments directly to yourselves.
It takes time to fully learn the skill of online teaching and adapting your teaching strategies to online equivalence. We at Wiztut have certain teaching qualities that we wish all of our tutors at the forefront of our business to adhere to. Hence you will have to attend periodic meetings with our admin in order to assess your online teaching skill and rank you accordingly.
Once your blog is approved, we strongly recommend that you begin practicing with the whiteboard. Each whiteboard session which can last 2 hours carries a very low cost on you, but think of those costs as an investment which will bring back an earnings of many folds larger. At the very early stages, you are expected to pass your initial test of online teaching skills and your ability to work with the Wiztut whiteboard. Passing this test will significantly elevate you rank in the search of our students. There are other periodic tests that will also elevate your rank until you reach the gold badge holder.
Depending on your rank and your experience and the quality of your blog and also whether you are responsive to messages you receive from customers and your ability to pass the Wiztut online teaching skill tests, you can have a large enough earning which for many of our tutors is larger than their full time jobs.
1- Possessing the relevant educational qualifications for your teaching topic at your chosen Leven
2- possessing the relevant teaching experience
3- Passing the initial online teaching skill test via using the Wiztut whiteboard
4- Good quality blog
5- Setting your hourly charges at an appropriate level
6- Being responsive to messages from students and Wiztut admin
7- Taking part in Wiztut periodic tests aiming to improve your online teaching skill and utilisation of the appropriate teaching pedagogies.
Tutors or tutoring businesses can have Wiztut accounts. The Wiztut accounts can be single user or multiuser account. The multiuser accounts are suitable for tutoring businesses or schools who wish to use the Wiztut environment for their provision of online teaching and learning. It is also suitable for those organisations who wish to provide a cheaper alternative for the expensive intelligent whiteboard in their classrooms and implement the new interactive teaching pedagogy that needs a portable whiteboard.
Our tutors and other member experts will benefit from our promotional advertising completely freely. Also when we find them customers, the payments that the customers pay will be made directly to them. Wiztut does not expect or deduct any commission from our the earning that our tutors and experts make from our customers. However we expect that the member tutors and experts use the Wiztut online whiteboard to hold all of their meetings and lessons. The only earning that Wiztut has is the charges that our tutors and other experts will pay to make use of our whiteboard. The cost for a 2 hours whiteboard session is very small and of course becomes smaller with larger purchases.
Hence we are very sensitive and quite observant about our members activities and should they benefit from our advertising and gain customers, but hold the sessions without using the Wiztut whiteboard, their accounts will immediately be disabled and after seeking compensation will be removed.
Tutors and member experts will have to be very responsive to the requests and messages they receive from our clients. They will have to attend the initial online teaching skill interview and will have to attend future periodic sessions with the objective to achieve the gold rank status.
Tutors and other member experts should not give to our clients their direct contact details such as telephone number, address and email address. In such cases we hold the rights to disable or remove your account from Wiztut.
Wiztut is the flagship under which many respected professionals are present and working, hence any action by any of the members that will compromise the reputation of this community or is in breach of the laws of the United Kingdom will result in their accounts to be disabled and/or removed and/or reported to the police which may follow by a legal action against them.
Wiztut blog editor allows you to create an online page to your own taste with headings and sections of your own choosing. You can include a gallery and also sample videos of your teaching. It is important that in the writing up of your blog you make sure that you use a fluent English with good grammar and largely avoid lists and bullet points. Also make sure that your blog is engaging and contains at least 500 words. We recommend that in your blog you include the following headings with their own subsections. The video bellow shows how you can use the Wiztut blog editor.
1- A brief about yourself that attracts the right student to you. The brief should b energetic, true while mentioning your main teaching field and the levels and age group you will teach. The brief should not exceed 4 lines. This part is the part that will appear in the earliest stages of students who are searching and can affect the choices that students make.
2- The picture for your blog should be a semi-formal, full-face, bright and high quality one with a tender smile. The quality of picture has shown to be one of the most affective part of your blog that encourages students to contact you.
3- Your education qualifications with the dates you have achieved them and the name of the establishments you attended. It will be interesting if aspects of your qualification that you feel are relevant are mentioned separately.
4- Your work history with dates and the names of your employing establishments. Your should mention the experiences which are relevant to your teaching separately.
5- Your hourly fee and possible discounts
6- The tags that include your field of teaching
7- Some personal interests which can make your tutees try to get to know you better. In fact the personal interests section is a section that attracts the attention of many students and makes the students visiting your page to remain on your page for longer which in turn makes your page a more searchable one.
8- Testimonies are also useful, but we at Wiztut will have to make sure that the testimonies you are including are truly from your satisfied clients.
There is no limitations to how many students can attend one online lesson. Of course the tutor who is conducting the lesson must have enough bandwidth to accommodate the number of students he or she wants to allow in his or her class.
Though the more students are in one classroom the more server processing power and server time will be used which will mean higher server cost, but Wiztut policy is to allow reasonable size group lessons for all of our tutors.
We provide an online tuition service. Wiztut online whiteboard has been designed to give the experience of a face to face, but through your computer and internet. Many of our students have said that in fact the experience that they have got using our online tuition has been much better than face to face tuition.
Wiztut online classroom is a web-based whiteboard on which you and your tutees can exchange ideas and information much better than you could do in a face to face lesson. The Wiztut whiteboard allows you to establish a video and audio communication with your tutees while using the whiteboard as an online paper on which you and your tutees can write on, draw shapes and graphs, paste pictures and upload pdf files in order to exchange ideas and solve problems. Teaching and learning via the advanced whiteboard of Wiztut is much more productive than face to face sessions with an extra advantage that the whole lesson can be saved as notes in pdf files.
How do I declare the times that I am not available to teach?
On your tutor panel, at the top of your calendar, there is a button with the title "Not Available" which helps you announce the times you re not available to teach. When students come to your blog and look at your calendar, they will see the times that you are available. Any lessons that you have had planned in advance also shows as not available on your calendar.
When a student posts his/her enquiry on our website his/her request will be added to the Wiztut job market until the time when that student is fixed up with the tutor of his/her choice. We recommend that that you visit the Wiztut job market regularly and show your interest in teaching those students who are not yet fixed up with a tutor. The rank of those tutors who regularly participate in the job market will be elevated so that in the future student searches their information will shown in higher positions.
Those tutors who reach the highest position of gold badge holders will be able to add their name to their tags which enables our students to search them by their names.
The Wiztut admin follow the progress of each student very closely. Normally once a student has found their tutor and have had five or more lessons with a tutor, our admin will contact that student for their feedback. The feedback we seek about our tutors are about their knowledge of the subject, their time keeping, their teaching quality and their ability to use the whiteboard to its full capacity. Wiztut admin will become very sensitive towards those cases where students do not stay with their tutors for less than five lessons. Such cases will be investigated more thoroughly and can result in the reduction of the rank of their tutors.
If your resources are in PDF, you ca simply drag and drop your file onto the whiteboard. If your resources are powerpoint files, they will have to be converted to PDF before you can upload it onto the whiteboard. If your resources are images of any format, they can be dragged and dropped onto the whiteboard or uploaded onto the whiteboard easily. One of the most useful way of transferring the relative part of your digital resources that are on your computer screen is to directly capture it off the screen and paste it onto the whiteboard. For Windows operating system, you can use the "Snipping Tools". For the Apple Mac you can capture the screen using the keyboard combination of "Shift+cmd+4" and the select part of the screen you wish to capture and then drag and drop the captured picture onto the whiteboard.
Establishing the video and audio communication with the students is the privilege that only tutors have. Students cannot call the tutors. If they are already on the whiteboard, they have to wait until their tutors call them. On the menu of the whiteboard you will come across the selection which has the icon of a small video camera. Once you click on it, the video audio communication box will be opened on the top left of the whiteboard. If your student is already in the class, his or her name will appear in the box with an icon of a chain Lin underneath it. By clicking this icon the audio video connection to that student will be established. When the connection is established, then your student can hear you so you should instruct them to turn on their sound by clicking on the icon of a microphone and turn on their video if they wish by clicking on the icon of a video camera in the communication box.
If you wish that for a while your student cannot hear you, you can just click on the icon of microphone under your video frame and change its colour from green to black. This will turn your microphone off. You can turn your video off in exactly the same way by clicking on the icon of a video camera.
In order to use the audio and video communication facility on the Wiztut whiteboard which uses much less data than most other applications, your computer or tablet must have a webcam and sound.
You cantest your media settings hereto find out the settings that suits the Wiztut whiteboard. You should do this prior to attending your online lesson.
Make sure that whatever is the selection that works in the above test page are the settings you will apply to your media of your computer or tablet.
You can announce some of your lessons as public lessons on your calendar. A public lesson could be used as an open opportunity to attract new students. You can offer open or public lesson near the exam times so that your students can attend and ask their questions without any previous appointments.
When you make a class a public lesson on your calendar, then when your students refer to your blog and look at your calendar, you will be able to enter your running public lesson as long as they know the passkey. If you wish your public classes to be entered by everyone you should announce the passkey as a note at the gate of your public classes.
Most computers have applications which will help you video what is on your computer screen. However before video recording a lesson make sure that your students are aware of it. It is illegal to record others without their knowledge.
If you cannot find a recording application on your computer, there are many web-based recording application that will do the same job. Wiztut admin have tried and tested one of these application. Please CLIKCH HERE to be directed to it.

The quickest way to make a class so that you can send your tutee the link to the class is to make an "On The Go" class. The video below explains how to make an "On The Go" class
It is possible that your browser sessions has timed out. Please make sure your are using Google Chrome and once again return back to your control panel. You will have to login to your control panel and from your calendar re-enter the class. You will notice that the icon of a video camera will be in the menus.
What kind of files can be uploaded onto the whiteboard?
You can upload images of most formats. You can also upload PDF. There is another file format which is Wiztut own format called WMO. Any page of whiteboard which has been saved in a WMO file, can be uploaded back onto the whiteboard. This format enables you to save the whiteboard with all of the objects and canvas drawings and images exactly as they are when you are teaching. So that by uploading a WMO you can return the whiteboard to exactly the status how it was when you ended your lesson.

This format enables you to save the whiteboard with all of the objects and canvas drawings and images exactly as they are when you are teaching. So that by uploading a WMO you can return the whiteboard to exactly the status how it was when you ended your lesson.
To begin with use the free classes to practice with the whiteboard. Ask for your initial test when you are ready to have your online teaching skill tested. In your test you must demonstrate that you know how to use the whiteboard sufficient enough to deliver a good lesson. Make sure that you respond to the messages and request you receive from students promptly. Do participate in the Wiztut job market and do apply for the jobs. Attend your classes punctually and deliver good quality lessons. It is important that your lessons with a new student lasts and they continue with you for much longer than 5 lesson. The positive feedback by students who have had more than 5 lessons from you carries a good weight in improving your rank.
Apart from a reasonably strong internet, you will require a computer or a tablet. Your computer and tablet must have a webcam and sound. You cantest your media settings hereto find out the settings that suits the Wiztut whiteboard. You should do this test prior to attending your online lesson. For your browser you must use Google Chrome.
We recommend that if you are using a computer, you must at least have a mouse which will act as your pen on the whiteboard. Some student who use a computer also use a graphic tablet and its pen for writing on the whiteboard. iPad and Apple mobiles which use the iOS operating system cannot use the media on the Wiztut whiteboard due to iOS restrictions.
For users with Apple iPad, though will be using more data, we recommend to use Skype or WhatsApp for video and audio communication with their tutor and the Wiztut advanced whiteboard for doing their lessons.
Wiztut whiteboard is a web-based application and hence no download is required. We know of the sensitivity of some our users towards downloading applications on to their computers and hence we have made sure that Wiztut website and all of its sections including our most advanced whiteboard does not download or leave any information on your systems.
An hour of active online classroom where tutor and student have audio and video communication uses 350 MB of data. However if the video communication is disconnected and you suffice to only audio communication then one hour of an active online lesson will consume about 150 MB of data.
In our definition an active online lesson is one in which the tutor and student are using the whiteboard tools without any break. Also in the above estimate the amount file uploads onto the whiteboard is anticipated to be about 50 MB. The data that you can upload onto the Wiztut whiteboard can be images and PDF files.
50 MB is a reasonable amount of data and we have come up with this average figure in over 5000 online lessons. Of course if the whole of an one hour lesson is taken up by solely uploading files onto the whiteboard, then you should expect that the amount of your consumed data would be the the same as the total size of the files you had uploaded.
Another issue about your internet to consider is the size of your bandwidth. A 4G internet at maximum level will provide a upload speed of about 4 Mbps (mega bits per second). When you are in a lesson and you have both audio and video communication with your tutor you will require a bandwidth of about 0.5 Mbps.
You cantest your media settings hereto find out the settings that suits the Wiztut whiteboard. You should do this prior to attending your online lesson.
Make sure that whatever is the selection that works in the above test page are the settings you will apply to your media of your computer or tablet.
This provision is disabled on the Wiztut whiteboard at the moment. Please remember that if your teaching requires a lot of screen sharing , do let us know and we will enable that facility on your whiteboard or alternatively you can use Skype for that purpose. In general for a productive teaching session, we do not recommend screen sharing. Instead it is best to share ideas via collaborating on the whiteboard. Of course there are subjects like programming in which sharing the screen may be essential, but even for a subject like programming it is far better to paste the code on the whiteboard to discuss its algorithm, etc.
The other reason that it is important that the lesson is fully conducted via placing the information on the whiteboard, is that the whole of whiteboard can be saved as a PDF file for later reference. Since the whole whiteboard can be saved as a PDF file, it means that during the lesson, there no need for note taking.
What file types can be uploaded onto the whiteboard?
You can upload images of most formats. You can also upload PDF. There is another file format which is Wiztut own format called WMO. This facility is currently disabled on the whiteboard. If you require this facility for your teaching please ask us to enable it on your whiteboard. Alternatively you can pass on the link of your video via a chat message on the whiteboard so that your students can watch it themselves.
When your student want to enter your class, they should use their first name and the passkey that you have given them. If the system asks them to use a different name, they can just add a number to the end of their name.
Apple computers and laptops are fully compatible with the Wiztut whiteboard, but iPad and Apple mobiles which use the iOS operating system cannot use the media on the Wiztut whiteboard due to iOS restrictions. However all other whiteboard functions work perfectly on the Apple iPad. For users with Apple iPad, though will be using more data, we recommend to use Skype or WhatsApp for video and audio communication with their tutors and the Wiztut advanced whiteboard for doing their lessons.
Cookies are small files which are stored on a your computer. They are designed to hold a minute amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user. Wiztut home page uses cookies to make sure that if you have done a search for a tutor and you wish to contact them, you don’t have to fill in the fields for the messages you send to the tutors again and again. This is really to ease and speed up your enquiry process.
There is no limitations to how many students can attend one online lesson. Of course the tutor who is conducting the lesson must have enough bandwidth to accommodate the number of students he or she wants to allow in his or her class.
Though the more number students is a classroom will mean more server processing time for us, but Wiztut policy is to allow reasonable size group lessons for all of our tutors.
Some tutors offer one free trial lesson to a new potential student so that he/she is convinced that they will be able to help before he/she purchase further lessons from them. It is possible that some students may think they can abuse these offers, but they will soon notice that their request will not be accepted by you tutors because our admin will contact you and inform you about those students who have been asking for free trial lessons from too many tutors.
The matter of your payments is something you have to agree with your students yourselves. Wiztut does not interfere in your agreements and does not benefit from your payments. Wiztut does not deduct any commission from your earnings. You receive your payments directly from your students.
We suggest that after a few lesson, by giving some discount, encourage your students to pre-purchase a batch of lessons. Typically our tutors ask for a batch of 5 lessons to paid in advance.
Wiztut tutors announce their hourly charges themselves. We do not deduct a percentage from your earnings. We suggest that in order to increase your requests to start your work at the Wiztut website with a fee lower than your normal charge. Once your rank has gone up in our website then you may decide to rethink your charges.
Wiztut students are aware that we actively encourage you to keep your fees low while maintaining the highest quality of service. So we can confidently claim that if our students find you advertising on another site, your rate of hourly charges will not be lower than on Wiztut. This is because we do not deduct any commission from earnings.
We recommend that you should offer a discounted rate to those students who purchase batches of lessons. For example a batch of 5 lessons or 10 lessons.
Every time that a new student connects you, then you will lose one contact credit. We will give all new tutors 5 contact credit to start with. After receiving 5 new enquiries, if you have not yet got a client, then to continue receiving further new enquiries from new students you will have to purchase more contact credit from the purchasing plans on your control panel.

What if I have connection issues or miss my lesson?
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have planned for your online lesson and that you have good internet connection for your lesson. It is also your responsibility that you plan your time well so that you attend your online lesson on time. If you are aware of any connection issues or if you anticipate that you may be late for your lesson or even miss your lesson completely, do please inform your students well in advance.
This of course is a financial issue between you and your student. We recommend that when your are finalising your agreement with your students inform them about your policies in dealing with such matters. We recommend that you should reschedule the lesson for another convenient time for your student. If we receive any complaints from your students regarding lost lessons we are obliged to look into it and if the management find that it is a regular occurrence, your account may be disabled.
If this is not a regular occurrence, then it simply may be due to some unforeseen events and you should compensate the lost lesson. Nevertheless this is an issue between you an your student and we can only advise that when your are finalising your agreement with your student you should advise them about your policy in dealing with such matters.
You are the direct and sole beneficiary of the payments you receive. If a student of yours requests a receipt for his/her payments, you should consider providing one.
Those free classes are so that you can practice with the Wiztut whiteboard before you take your first test on online teaching skill. Your skill in using the Wiztut whiteboard and your skill in delivering interactive online lessons are very important to us. We encourage our tutors to contact our master tutors if they need to consult them about their adopted online teaching pedagogy. As far Wiztut is concerned a quality online lesson can only be delivered by those tutors who have acquired the right level of skill and experience in using the Wiztut whiteboard. Hence the more a tutor uses the whiteboard the higher he or she will rank on our website and the more enquiries he or she will receive from new students.
Please try and record as much evidence as you can. Certainly report the matter to us. Depending on the severity of the student action, you may decide to report it to the police. If requested by the police, Wiztut will provide all the information we keep on our messaging service to them.
